CHAPTER 1: Whole Numbers 1-200
The performance expected from students in Chapter 1 includes the ability to
count numbers correctly from 1-200;
identify and read numbers from 1-200;
order and write numbers up to 200;
collect data;
arrange data in arrays or groups.
CHAPTER 2: Fractions
Chapter 2 will enable pupils to
divide a collection of concrete objects into two or four equal parts;
obtain three-quarter of a concrete object.
CHAPTER 3: Addition and Subtraction
The activities in Chapter 3 will enable pupils to add and subtract two-digit numbers with/without exchanging/regrouping; add and subtract three-digit numbers with/without exchanging/regrouping; apply addition and subtraction in every day activities; find missing numbers in open sentences and solve related problems.
CHAPTER 4: Multiplication
At the end of Chapter 4, pupils should be able to multiply numbers using repeated addition and apply multiplication for calculations in everyday activities.
CHAPTER 5: Mensuration
Chapter 5 will enable pupils to enumerate the uses of money, recognize all types of coins and bank notes in Nigeria, add and subtract up to 20 Naira, compare natural units of length, measure lengths using its units, give time to hour and half an hour, name and arrange days of the weeks, order objects according to weights, order containers according to capacities, compare areas of surfaces and identify measurement units.
